Story Keeper’s Attic

The Story Keeper’s Attic by Shreyas Ray, YWA member 2026

As the student climbs the wooden ladder to access the Storykeeper’s Attic, the shift in size becomes apparent to them. What appeared to be a cozy, bedroom sized attic from the outside, turns out to be a seemingly endless treasury, encapsulating all the past pieces of literature crafted by the students of Inspire. 

The dimly lit wooden beams and the abundance of fairy lights surrounded by lush greenery encourages a calm and peaceful way of thinking, one that allows ideas to naturally flow to the student. Further amplified by the smell of old paper, it ultimately forms a place to tune your thoughts and inspire new ones. It’s designated area, rid of all distractions, perfectly built for when a tad bit of inspiration is needed and when the world outside feels a bit too loud. Students come here to check and read other stories for inspiration, often finding exactly what they need neatly placed on top of the cluttered stacks of entries within a specific chest. These chests live for one sole purpose: to educate and inspire writers needing that extra push, the writers who need the spark to light their creative fire.

Numerous scholars are spotted within the confines of the attic, calmly rummaging through the chests, and diving into a piece of writing, hoping to find what they need. The globe, perfectly placed in the center of the square nightstand, contains all the different worlds created by Inspire students. 

As students are about to exit the attic, an open book gazes at them, and they only spot it from the corner of their eyes. The scholars always gravitate towards the book, like it has a magnet attached to them. Slowly each and every student picks up the pencil, and as it touches the page, all anxiety disappears and the ideas jumbled up in their brain begin to weave together into stories.
